wait i’m sorry. the way you’re SUPPOSED to use linkedin is by leaving chatgpt-ass comments like “neato! thanks for sharing with the community 🚀” ?????? at that point just make comment fields auto suggestion-only and get rid of the text field

@samhenrigold “what if we took a ‘like’ button, then made the result take longer to read?!”

there are jeans in my wardrobe that must be jorted and there are bananas on my counter that must be bread. that’s the circle of life, honey

If you’ll indulge me for a second, since we’re a digital first agency, the color palette in this rebrand has leaned really heavily into rich P3 colors.

So as we’ve been posting these assets everywhere, it’s been interesting to see which services strip the images down to sRGB and compress it to kingdom come.

You can see the rich colors in action in one of the graphics here: lickability.com/blog/the-new-l

I'm curious how many people actually use screens capable of displaying P3 colors. Intuitively it feels that it should be very little, way less than 50%.

Say 👋 to our brand new brand!

Inspired by our 15+ years of history, and looking to our future, we decided it was time for a fresh coat of paint…

one final thing before i get to not think about websites for a few days: look at this cute animation i built for form submit confirmation.

all the brand colors, all rich P3 colors, all SVG. not a lottie file in sight, just people living in the moment.

👅 This has been a very long time in the making.

🙏 Thanks to @jillian, @samhenrigold, and the team at Radialinear Studio for all the work that went into breathing new life into the brand I’ve spent 15 years building with my best friends.

📲 We all deserve better software.

@samhenrigold @lickability I love your homepage. The copy is amazing. The value prop is crystal clear. You showcase capabilities and references. I shared it with my colleagues.

repeat after me: a shitty app icon you make will always be better than an AI generated one you willed into existence

maybenot

@samhenrigold

i object to "you willed into existence" as this repeats AI marketing as fact.

Nice remembrance of ahead-of-it's-time Yahoo! Pipes.

retool.com/pipes

(Presumably Retool published it as a little way to say *Remember that? That was cool. But like, we can do that stuff too, now, better.")

I remember stitching RSS feeds together in Pipes and loving it. I feel like Zapier is a bit more pipes-like these days though.

David O'Brien

God yes, used to use Yahoo! Pipes to mash up RSS feeds from various music sites and get a feed of upcoming local gigs in iGoogle.

Web 1.0 was great.

i was always on board with mask mandates but i draw the line at telling me to not touch my face. that’s my favorite thing to do. if you take that from me, i have nothing.

You know, I kinda miss covid... It was simpler calmer times. The entire humanity was fighting it together instead of fighting each other like now

we don’t ask for permissions right on first launch. we wait our turn, present the prompts when the user wants the feature. very demure, very mindful, very classy

can't believe it's been three years since i turned the world of web development on its head with this bombshell: samhenri.gold/blog/20210803-lo

someone on grindr said “i bet you have a nebula subscription” as their first message and i have not stopped throwing up and sobbing since

The cringiest conversations I've had on Hornet so far were with those Asian bots that send you several seemingly hardcoded messages in funnily broken Russian regardless of what you say.
