@samhenrigold it’s an odd trend I’ve seen mostly amongst financial products https://twitter.com/neilsardesai/status/1491209447280361474?s=46&t=xOes_Pc8WLZTr74W7J1q7A @samhenrigold i think you meant SIGN_IN_EULA_FIRST_LINE SIGN_IN_EULA_SECOND_LINE SIGN_IN_EULA_BUTTON_TITLE @samhenrigold practice squeezing money out of people vs really squeezing money out of people @samhenrigold you made me look up the etymology and it’s a weird one https://english.stackexchange.com/a/555 the cell phone industry seriously finessed our asses. we went from two year contracts to “no more contracts!” to “actually you need to sign a three year contract” in, what, eight years? https://www.androidauthority.com/verizon-three-year-contracts-3102045/ Contracts must be another US thing. Here we've only ever had prepaid plans. You stop paying, you lose service. You can switch carriers at any moment and keep your number. You're also on your own to buy a phone. Total freedom! But at least you do get some cool oreo flavors over in the US. @samhenrigold But that's only if you want to get a new device financed with it, right? If you just buy your device directly from Apple for example, you get a month-by-month contract from Verizon. Or did I misunderstand something? @samhenrigold I can’t wait for them to release that feature. Only think I miss from the ol’ twitter days. when i was younger, i used to think everyone who bought a house had an episode of house hunters. like you needed to be on the show to buy a house. so i kept hounding my parents what their episode was. i think this went on until i was 7 or 8? I still think about this photo constantly. The HomePod mini just came out and some dude on Reddit was the first to do a tear down. It’s not even properly photographed, he just ripped it apart and dumped the guts on a dirty carpet lmao.

Today I saw an instagram story with watermelon chocopies (?!) from a guy I know. I asked him where'd he get them, he said on ozon.ru, our amazon-like marketplace. And sure enough, they do sell all kinds of WILD oreos imported from all around the world but mostly Asia. With WILD prices, too. Won't be buying any right now but at least now I know where to look. it appears i have been running a local node server on a neglected laptop since last august. That’s not stellar. @samhenrigold There’s a gap in the quantity of beautiful, native apps between iOS/Mac and everything else. So when something like @ellieapp comes along and builds a kick-ass, model-citizen Windows app, it gives me a lil bit of hope. @samhenrigold oh this is great! I’ve been looking for a nice windows client! Great job @colby ! I recently discovered this really neat, undocumented preference in Keynote while doing some good ol fashioned Spelunking: defaults write com.apple.iWork.Keynote EnableCustomAccelerationCurves YES Enjoy your fancy custom timing curves

@samhenrigold How do you make the shapes show up on the side in a side bar? @samhenrigold This is really cool, thanks for sharing! What do you use to extract the strings? (Does not look like the standard string tool.) @samhenrigold you can even alt click on the curve to add intermediate points! Thank you, thank you, and thank you. If you haven’t seen this archive of presidential campaign branding yet, I highly recommend a peruse. https://www.politicsanddesign.com i feel like marching bands got the short end of the stick. why can’t we call the other type “stationary bands” and marching bands can simply be “bands”? @samhenrigold In my town we have an annual festival of “street bands” which use marching band equipment but definitely don’t march. I propose we follow this and name them based on the material they perform on top of. Street bands, chair bands, football field bands. |
