I think the best possible outcome for the Apple antitrust stuff is if they have to sell a 500 foot spool of braided power cable so I can terminate my own MagSafe cables this is a premium post and you all are sleeping on it. i could’ve charged for this. a shame really. Alright, let's give it a fair shot. Curious to see their spin on things. https://www.threads.net/@samhenrigold wanted to share an interesting nugget i found in a research paper: the distribution of colors in memes (https://appliednetsci.springeropen.com/articles/10.1007/s41109-021-00358-7)

@samhenrigold The second panel can also read as "audio" and if the curvy lines are on top of the phone it definitely means some sort of signal transmission. honestly you can turn any glass screen into a nano textured display with some sandpaper and good ol fashioned elbow grease

@samhenrigold combining two things that I am unreasonably obsessed about into what I would call UX Politics. @samhenrigold funny enough, Alien Blue still works. you can totally use Alien Blue as your new reddit client. @samhenrigold wait is reddit still using the same keys for the official app? they never changed them? looool @samhenrigold It doesn’t support two factor, though. Some people have had success using password:55555 with the 5’s being the 2FA code, but it’s not working for me. Why do these people even try playing by the rules? Just extract the API key from the official app and pretend nothing happened. It's not like they'll send cops after these people.

@samhenrigold little did I know clicking the other option would lead me to decades of juggling two different Apple accounts, the other created to redeem that bottle cap. If only I’d picked that choice… 😂 More details for history nerds: As typography advanced, fleurons become more complex and intricate. Combinable ones got used to form borders and patterns. These designs became an art form unto themselves. Below is the title page of Christophe Plantin’s 1567 type specimen with a fleuron border. So when you see fleurons scattered around the app, take a moment to appreciate the centuries of typographic tradition they represent. Or don’t! @samhenrigold Have you noticed any other apps/websites/digital media with fleurons out of interest?

FYI if you want to hack on Instagram's internal APIs, the Android app is much easier to get at. It uses something called "proxygen" for the HTTP client. It's written in C++, which means JNI bindings, which means that part is necessarily excluded from obfuscation. You can hook your own code into it quite easily. I did that years ago to strip ads from API responses before handing them off to the rest of the app.
i’m willing to flip every single bit back and forth until it does the thing i want. we can do this all day.
I sent you my instagram patching stuff on discord, hope it helps
