@gamingonlinux That green is just giving me massive Xbox 1 vibes - so I'll be getting it obviously.

If you saw the error in that previous video: no you didn't 😆

New one coming...

Just a reminder for big game releases on Steam Deck: it's far far far faster to do a plain download if you have good internet, than unpack a preload.

@gamingonlinux The biggest issue of Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the fact that it exists.

Wildlands plays perfectly on Steam Deck.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is now on Steam, and I'm downloading to take a look on Steam Deck #SteamDeck

Proton Experimental just gives a DirectX error, even when launching with Vulkan...

Normalize playing on “easy” mode just for fun, not to add to the stress of life.

@gamingonlinux this! Play the game anyway you want to!

@gamingonlinux Do whatever you find fun, if easy is fun for you or if the hardest difficulty is fun for you play that, however you want to play.

@gamingonlinux I love playing on easy modes on certain games where it makes the experience more fun!
However, I've also noticed that reducing difficulty on other games made them no fun at all, like the Witcher 3, where I started in normal, combat was just pressing X and dodging nothing, all skill points in attack skills, so I didn't like the game. At some point I started from scratch in hard mode and everything clicked, I loved playing it, loved the gameplay and the story!

@gamingonlinux I'm actually playing this games, and this had a lot of improvement since he was unsupported. The controller work, there is less shuttering, less graphical bug, but if you stay in the menu too long or if you alt tab an application it's hard to come back and keep playing because it's lagging a lot. Well, I hope that the heroic dev will do something for the origin launcher too (referring to your interview)

@gamingonlinux I guess they finally caught up. Been playing Fallen Order on Steam deck since November or the beginning of December.

Scario

@gamingonlinux just a little feedback: I'm playing Haiku in these days on my Steam Deck: it's not a perfect game but I really enjoy playing it. You can fill that it is made by heart.

@gamingonlinux Im wondering why Valve isnt working on a Anti-Cheat API for the Steam Deck? The RDNA2 has the necessary TPM features and a huge amount of work regarding remote attestation for Linux systems has been done in the past decade. They could make anti cheat on the Steamdeck more robust than any PC solution ever could since they have control of the full stack from the SoC to the software distribution (very close to what consoles are offering to developers).

PS: This could still allow for root acces for the end user, it would just mean you couldnt play some games while your custom kernel, kernel modules, system libraries are active. Easy enough to build a mechanism to switch back to a “secure” state if needed.

@gamingonlinux I miss when Rocket League had native OSX and Linux versions. I have no clue why Epic Games wants to avoid Linux like it killed their grandma or something.

cybik :deifirev:

@gamingonlinux at this point it's safe to say Epic is actively hostile to Linux.

@gamingonlinux Nice. A long, long time ago, this was the first game on linux I really loved, even though it was really WIP.

I spoke with JSAUX behind the scenes, and this is one part of the result. They agreed with me on many things, and I'm pleased they took my advice on this and other things being improved. Good stuff.

Rassilonian Legate

@gamingonlinux
I'm not sure I trust them yet, but after watching your video it's at least a good step in the right direction, to few companies are willing to admit to mistakes, even with people trying to get them to as long as you have been

I'm not about to rush out and buy stuff from them, but if enough time passes without incedent I will at least be open to it

This is the type of thing that will get you blocked. I won’t deal with this kind of random attitude problem. Don’t be like this, be better or be blocked.

@gamingonlinux Bruh got lost and answer the wrong toot maybe? :thaenkin:

But respond like was not a mistake so... weird...

thekraken8him

@gamingonlinux He randomly brings up a unrelated game’s performance on a different platform using a different compatibility tool, yet you’re the weirdo lol.
