I hear this question a lot: There are no blue tick verifications on Mastodon. You can verify ownership of a homepage, it shows up as a green tick next to the link on your profile. To do so check instructions on the edit profile page. It’s automatic.

There is no app called “Mastodon” because anyone can develop an app (and the aforementioned ones are made by independent developers). You can also use the website on your phone, it works quite well and has 100% of the features.

@HardFastAndFree Oh.. it’s confusion. You don’t need to login anywhere else to follow. If you see a remote follow screen, enter hardfastandfree@mastodon.social into the dialog window and it will take you back here.

@jalcine Letting people use their own domain with hosted accounts could be a step in the right direction, but not trivial, in regards to authority: the main server could modify your account even though the account is on your own domain, that doesn’t feel right.

@HardFastAndFree Have you tried password reset? Perhaps your browser has autofilled the password when you were changing it so it saved something unexpected

@HardFastAndFree Does login work with the old password or just not at all?
