I cannot tell you how many times I've read #HisDarkMaterials when I was growing up.

Curious choice to reveal so early on that multiple worlds do actually exist and portals between them are possible. That wasn't in the book. Likewise Lyra shouldn't have learned about the daemon separation device up until she meets the abandoned boy in the north. While I can understand the purpose of the latter to up the stakes for viewers about Roger, the former seems purposeless to me right now. 🤔

I want to see more, but I am starting to be disappointed. I actually forgot about another huge early reveal, Lyra's parentage, until I started reading discussions about the episode. This show has an adequate production value but it seems like it's falling short in the screenwriting department.

@Gargron I would love to have one. The features that it has are amazing. The design sucks for sure but it is amazing when you look at the features 🙃

@Gargron For heaven's sake, it's not even December yet.

Is it not enough that you've already advanced the Armageddon by several centuries? Must you do the same with my son's birthday too? I am the one who has to get the cake you know.

I'm watching the Sacha Baron Cohen speech and I agree with a lot of what he says up to the point where he suggests checking every single post before it's published 🤔

@Gargron the Anti Defamation League is not a legitimate force for good. It uses claims of antisemitism to shut down legitimate criticism of the Israeli occupation.

@Gargron laws and rules aren't going to make people better. We are what we are. This over-restricted world we're becoming has failed repeatedly throughout time. Bandaids don't cure anything, and in this case, it just ruins the web to overregulate it.

And according to WHOM?

This impeachment inquiry stream is now doing a viewer call-in section for some reason

Eugen Rochko

Oh my god is that what people from Alabama sound like. Is that their accent

I’ve tuned in to the impeachment inquiry and this person is telling everyone their entire family backstory for some reason

Is this some kind of 5D chess strategy to make people fall asleep before you get to the actual fact witness part

@Gargron coming from a country where the judiciary and executive are famous for grovelling when asked to bend , these US govt staff calmly speaking the truth to power against the most powerful man (and by all accounts a vengeful one) in the world , is inspiring , to say the least . When Ms Hill talks of her humble origins and a working class accent that wouldn’t have helped in England , it is all the more impressive to me . Modern aristocrats crawl in my country .

@Gargron I still remember getting new glasses for the first time in ten years, and trying to figure out when the hell everything got so far away.

@Gargron when I first got glasses as a kid, I remember staring at all the leaves in the trees. I told my family it was “like upgrading to HD!” and they gave me so much crap for it. But it was an incredible feeling realizing there was so much more detail to see in the world.
