I haven't had a chance to do any photography for a month and a half now, just holed up at home working. I miss it dearly.

@Gargron it's a marathon, not a sprint. Please make sure to take the time you need doing things you love. We need you to have a full reservoir.

@Gargron How about some indoor themed challenges to help with the withdrawals? Macro, abstract or product shots for example. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I remember when all the CEOs tried to be like Steve Jobs, that some what made sense. I don't get this new wave that shoots themselves to prevent anyone else from making money from their platforms while alienating their employees, customers and users.

Ready to put a hex on you!
Go, Fury, go for it!

(Nothing personal against you, @Sardonicus but I find myself on her side).

You ever seen something so painfully out of touch and oblivious it hurts?

@cederbs let's rephrase it better : AI is the new oil

Kiran Rao

@cederbs it is scary how this article projects the similarity of AI with plastic in positive light. I wrote a thread a while back about the similarities between the plastic industry and AI in a not so flattering tone: androiddev.social/@kiranrao/11

@cederbs It'll pollute everything, but we'll carry on ignoring the problem because it's too convenient?

Half of the EU stock for the Mastodon plushie has been claimed over the last two days. What's perhaps even more exciting is that I think some of the first orders should be arriving at people's homes today (depending on locality), and I'm really looking forward to seeing The Creature in the #Plushtodon hashtag.

@aburtch Do his eyes have a sort of flat, almost milky reflection in the pupils? He could be losing his depth perception.

@AzulCrescent totally that tonight. Stopped at a local small family owned restaurant and grabbed some tostadas. Life is good.

@sophie@mastodon.catgirl.cloud I estimate it's weight to be roughy 650 kilograms

approximated it as a cyliner 35cm in height and half that in diameter. This gives a weight of of \pi \cdot (17.5cm)^2 \cdot 35cm \cdot 19.3\frac{g}{cm^3} \approx 650kg

@sophie HEAVY WEBSITE CREATURE :neocat_pleading_reach:

The Ebou macOS #TestFlight is here! It explores a different kind of Mastodon experience.I'm eager to learn whether it works for you.

Many features are missing as I wanted to focus on a core experience. The website has more info: terhech.de/ebou.

These core ideas are

1. Timeline grouped by contact much like a messenger (Telegram, iMessage)
2. Show conversations as a "comment tree" to see the context and related interesting toots

Feel free to DM me for feedback

@terhechte I really like the idea and the app. Thank you very much for your work!
One idea: it would be great to be able to set the sort order of the second column in the app. Even if that would be different than in the iMessage UI, it makes more sense to me to see the newest messages at the top. Or maybe it would be enough to jump to the end of the second column automatically.

@terhechte @snipy this has columns but also novel traversal by contact.

@terhechte Howdy. I’m the project steward over at Firefish & Spacehost, but also developing Mastodon extensions. I really like what I’ve read about Ebou. I assume the conversation grouping works with standard ActivityPub, as is, and merely makes a more pleasant UX for those who use it as a personal timelines browser? I ask b/c some suggested that ou’re also extending the AP protocol to make this convo grouping a new feature of the masto API. I doubted that, but anything is possible :) - Matt
