Henry #cat wants it to be understood that he'll be joining me for my first post-Helene business trip. @frederik where can I get it? Looks cute a competent, just like true social media manager :) We're now shipping the #Plushtodon to Norway and Switzerland! Only 173 left in Europe. News on the US and other regions to come soon!

404 Media's @jasonkoebler and ProPublica's @ben are discussing how the #fediverse helps #publishers in the latest episode of @mike's #DotSocial podcast. Highly recommended. This struck me particularly: Ben is making the case that the Fediverse is the means by which publishers can re-take the initiative with technology instead of simply having to live with whatever the platforms decide. That is powerful stuff! https://about.flipboard.com/fediverse/jason-koebler-and-ben-werdmuller/ @j12t

@phire have not, will not. Disabling “AI” wherever it intrudes into my work and life. It’s bullshit. @phire well. I’m in! Also, my 17-year-older than me lead used AU too. I’m 75 and he’s 90 and you want more data? 🍸😿🍸🙀Gimme an effin break!🍸😹 BTW it’s not super great duh! But you had to know that right?🍸😹 Every single coder I've ever met just felt a great disturbance in the force, as if a terrible lie was told about AI yet again... I know what the people want on a Sunday afternoon. Freshly groomed and, somehow, even more handsome than usual:

@nsmckinnon I love the "like the perfect gentleman he is in some pictures" and may have to steal that for a certain frequent subject of my own toots, for whom it is also true :) Elon Musk’s X is changing its privacy policy to allow third parties to train AI on your posts https://techcrunch.com/2024/10/17/elon-musks-x-is-changing-its-privacy-policy-to-allow-third-parties-to-train-ai-on-your-posts/

@Sarahp This is likely going to happen and it's going to be the funniest thing ever Melancholic pussy-cat. book of hours, France 15th century. Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, MS 662, fol. 21r. This is one of the most dystopian, depressing things I’ve ever seen: https://intouch.family An AI service that will call your parents for you so you don’t have to bother… “inTouch is a wonderful discovery for our family and for my dad. I particularly appreciate the smart notifications that inform me about his emotions. It helps me know when to talk to him or visit him.” Christ imagine basing when to visit your parents on an AI chatbot that detects negative sentiment

@sjolsen the red one is for bookmarks. It saves the post for future reference. Not as useful on the fediverse, especially as it doesn't work like a "private like" like on Xitter, and there's way less drama here to pull them out for later. |
@wttdotm brilliant 😈
@wttdotm crimes against humanity
@wttdotm dude... wtf?!
