@Sardonicus There's a couple wood versions of these at the Morton Arboretum for anyone in the Chicago area willing to schlep out there. Imagine that the subject of this sculpture was male. It would automatically be perceived as gay. Because viewers are assumed to be male. This is the definition of "male gaze"

@Sardonicus Do you ever wonder what the Chinese political prisoners making American flags or Christmas decorations or 4th of July fireworks are thinking at work? 'The Japanese Daisugi technique for growing trees started in the 14th century and have been producing wood for 700 years without cutting down trees. Trees are pruned similar to a bonsai tree and the wood is cut as uniform, straight and without knots.'

@Sardonicus this is really beautiful. It’s super interesting that the cedar wood is 200% stronger. That’s amazing! @Sardonicus Absolutely stunning technique, one desperately needed to be taught to conserve our trees. Recorded on my phone in Izmir. 'İzmir has over 3000 years of recorded urban history and up to 8500 years of history as a human settlement since the Neolithic period' One for @inoneear

@Sardonicus Beautiful. But wouldn't such a think profit from a counterweight? Or a spring? To ease the weight of the speaker? @Sardonicus Very cool! I showed my wife, she apparently came across one of these while helping sort out someone's estate.

Go, Fury, go for it!
