submitting a pull request to a closed-source proprietary software by disassembling the code and then DMing a developer with my changes  @ipg unironically when discord android had a weird bug a long while ago, we fixed the bug in aliucord discord developers checked out our fix commit and shortly after, the bug was fixed by discord, so ig we kinda actually did just that? https://github.com/Aliucord/Aliucord/pull/272#issuecomment-1270466710 (pretty wholesome interaction too) just remembered the time i managed to convince some of my american friends into thinking all british electronics and internet were disabled during the mourning period and i was only able to talk because i was using a VPN

Oh my God, they even have alt text... another tip for the newcomers: put alt texts/descriptions on your images and videos! it'll help those hard of vision / hearing be able to make sense of your posts, as well as helping those with slow or limited internet connections. (if it's hard to describe, just try your best, edit your post in the future if necessary) depending on your instance, you can also search for posts based on their media's alt text - on wetdry.world, posts are made searchable after you like, bookmark or boost them (or if you're mentioned in it) some nice fedi tip for the new users on this instance (and elsewhere!) by default your posts show up on the local (everyone on your instance), federated (everyone that your instance knows) timelines, and can show up in features like search, explore (popular posts), etc you can change this, making posts only visible to your followers (and can't be boosted / renoted), or posts being public, boostable, but not discoverable also - check out your local timelines! see what people are up to, say hi, make some friends  how do i set up my linux so my cursor is a cool burning on fire super-death sword and closing a window makes it do a burning animation  @ipg sounds like you are looking for "burn my windows" @ipg@wetdry.world i love tech companies embracing and making their own specific extensions to open standards im so glad nothing comes after that BORN TO XMPP i own this game on a CD btw i'm pretty sure if i had a CD drive i could install it in faster than whatever the EA app's doing i feel like gamers wouldn't feel so entitled if they knew even a small amount of what actually went into game development

in doing this i managed to fuck up hud.xex's string tables so badly that the drive indicator has no fuckin idea what it's doing in the Mastodon Glitch-soc fork, if you default posts to unlisted (like i do), you can enable a "secondary toot button" which gives a quick and easy button to post a public post (visible in hashtags, searchable on some instances, shows in local/federated timelines) the Xbox 360 S and PowerBook G4 15" Aluminium are the 2 best looking consumer electronics I own and they both have PowerPC processors the best quality testing resource a developer could have (web or native, but most noticably web) is a low-spec budget laptop and/or android phone, running latest software if you don't feel comfortable using your web app on budget hardware from a few years ago, then make it so you are there's something really charming about every EXE file made by most tooling having the MZ header that says "This program can not be run in DOS mode" including the Xbox 360's kernel |
