@nikitonsky You do know that the original Sin City was made in color just to crush everything into black&white in post, right? @nikitonsky It is crazy. The more modern a film is, the more I have to crank the brightness just to see what’s going on. There are some shows now where I peg it to the max

Suppose I want to buy a monitor. To do that, I want to search all available models that theoretically exist. I want to filter by hard specs: diagonal, horisontal resolution, vertical resolution, ppi, etc. I also want to specify ranges: 27-30", 200-240ppi, etc Sounds like this should be _exactly_ what computers are good at, right? So how do I do it? Which site to use?

@nikitonsky https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/table is one of the better ones I've seen. @nikitonsky I‘d use geizhals with its many filter options: https://geizhals.de/?cat=monlcd19wide What’s the idea here? You found names of 7 companies in an article. What’s the next step? Why is it useful? @nikitonsky I assume they want people to subscribe to news about certain companies but this one really baffles me @nikitonsky Thanks for the link, when I watched the film I was interested to know what VFX were used @nikitonsky It is possible to actually make multiple squares red, like with checkboxes. But in that case your vote doesn't count anymore… @nikitonsky I have seen this form so many times that I stopped thinking about it. For some reason checkboxes and radio buttons only exist for me on a screen and not outside 😅 Notion “static site” export. Selection doesn’t work somehow (only in Firefox, but still), and if I disable JS to fix selection, empty page is displayed. Not even spinner. What happened? Frontend happened @nikitonsky since Android icons are already round, smartphones on Android should look like this @nikitonsky I use "mental model" instead of "theory", but yeah: this. That's also why documentation is important and code does not replace it. 🙊 @nikitonsky the only theory i have is that I don't respect podcasts as an information delivery system Is there anything in programming as disgusting as double-encoded json? gzip + base64 _after_ is a close second double base64 is somewhere in there, too

@nikitonsky and then add this json as field to another json... and then double encode it again 😁 @nikitonsky Binary as a JSON number array with elements in the range -128 to 127 is good for the old blood pressure |
