Having slept all night, Hobbes is taking a well-deserved break resting his head on the metal foot of the coffee table. Let it be known to the jury that there’s a comfy chair with a cushion right behind him, and that he’s been fed twice already. Hobbes vs one-way cat flap. Just look at that smart cookie! He’s perfected his technique. Operating •and• developing Mastodon on this budget is nothing short of amazing. It’s also unsustainable and we should make sure we don’t just pay for our third party Mastodon clients but donate to the core project.

@finestructure I'm not sure why they're taking such low renumeration. Their Patreon alone gets ~ $25k a month, and there are corporate sponsorships on top of that. That money was donated for supporting the developers; I hope it's not being stashed away out of misguided financial conservatism.  @finestructure I would feel better if half the money spent on these subscription clients when to Mastodon. I wouldn't feel so ripped off my subscription software. Yesterday, our cat Hobbes was gone over night. He returned in the morning after 16h or so, which is highly unusual for him. There’s no way he went that long without eating and I now wonder if he’s got another place. Might call him Mitterrand now 🤔 |
