"The dumpster is a generative space for both discarding past images or objects and finding new ones, and new works can be constructed using this detritus." -@exquisitecorp "when you use primarily discarded or waste materials it helps provide a useful constraint around your activities, 'artwork', or other projects, or serves as a starting point for deciding what you'll make next, either as a meal (if it's food), or as artwork or for performances, if it's materials." -@exquisitecorp nice to see someone else point this out as its been a major lifelong part of my praxis yay finally found a powercord that actually charges this Surface while I am using it! I have been only able to use it off of battery cause as soon as the screen is on it was pulling more power then the charger I was using was able to give "helping someone procure mail-order abortion pills equates to performing an abortion as an unlicensed provider" any germans know how the green party trying to get something permanent from the 9euro tix legislation is going rn? @liaizon

@liaizon i'm used to seeing those square Belgian waffles when the country isn't Norway. this looks like a waffle that could actually come from my country. but you're pairing it with weird stuff. over here, it's typically sour cream and/or some kind of jam. or brown cheese (which isn't really cheese; it's whey-based and resembles fudge more than cheese) Just got out of watching Akira in a theater in Berlin! A friend had tickets and their date bailed last minute so I got invited. I had seen it before but many years ago and on a small screen. The animation is insane, the amount of effort that must go into every frame is mind boggling. @liaizon the backgrounds are so massive, those giant paintings of the city scapes that the camera pans over @liaizon There's this thing too: https://www.museumsportal-berlin.de/de/ausstellungen/akira-die-architektur-von-neo-tokyo/ I really liked it, even though I haven't watched the anime. No pictures allowed though (?) the image is actually pretty cool but I have no idea how this was chosen as the image for this ad, its so bizarre looking. @liaizon @liaizon I found talking to you pleasant and enlightening. See you soon somewhere! Thank you so much for your participation! This was also a cool event due to the inspiration you were able to sow... :-) @liaizon otherwise you'd be able to list accounts that have blocked you? that seems like it would be bad/ripe for abuse @liaizon I can see the point of being able to do it, but my guess is that it's non-trivial to implement... if you're not following an account, your local #Mastodon instance won't be pulling in (subscribing to?) updates for it. Putting an account onto a list would need to implicitly do a 'soft follow' if following wasn't required as a precondition, and I can imagine the devs decided it was better to require that be done explicitly. @liaizon There are two main features that Fedibird implements. The first is that you can choose to feed or not feed the posts of the users you follow to your home. This allows you to feed only the list while still following the ActivityPub normally. One is "subscribe features". This is the ability to feed public posts from users you don't follow to your home or list. You can target not only users, but also hashtags, keywords, and entire domains. Blocking and muting are reflected as expected. this is the most punk cassette player ever made made by el taller pino wow @butterflieshope and some other people at #fedicamp just made savory vegetable waffles! not often I come across food I have never tried before! oh shoot https://chaos.social has been down many hours now. anyone ping them on matrix or irc yet?
