«Я — Озимандия, я — мощный царь царей! Visited the hospital in which I'm gonna be hospitalized for a week at some point. It's pretty nice, thanks oil money and taxes. Too bad I couldn't visit the doctor today, because of the Tatarstan day. I just disdain the fact that most Mastoda have dark theme by default. Totally inaccessible and insulting. Follow the system theme, CSS media queries are old news! It's also true for Merveilles.

 @bouncepaw *notes this for later* An idea: I might extend our theme to make a light version, and an automatic light or dark that switches based on your device settings. Lemme add that to the Trello!   @bouncepaw Phanpy uses system theme and is better than the default frontend in most ways. UwU

  @bouncepaw yes, in poor countries that can't grow much food (like DPRK and Cuba) I've been meaning to make myself a music player to replace cmus for a long time now, today's the first day I get to have something other than it to play music while I work. I tried to make something reminiscent of the ipod nano I had a while back.

@neauoire I’d love to have a skin like that for a music app on my iPhone. Maybe I’ll figure out how to make one.  I see some folks migrating from Telegram to Matrix for obvious reasons. While I do use Matrix, and invite you to use it too, I can't say I like it very much. And then I thought. What is Matrix's response to Telegram's channels? I don't think there is any. But that's probably what Fediverse handles. NB. Telegram channels are like chats, but only admins can post. There are also comments to posts that open in a separate view.

@bouncepaw #Telegram channels are a mistake and shouldn't be reimplemented anywhere. Messaging and reading blogs must have different UI/UX. Mixing them in a single chat view strenghtens FOMO and is just unethical.   @bouncepaw i love telegram channels, but i access them over rss and dont read the comments generally matrix really has no good answer here tbh Interesting project that remotely renders JS pages into plain HTML or clickable image maps.    @mariusor I like it when it is done properly, and I have done it myself on occasion: https://codeberg.org/klausman/pngrep/src/branch/main/png.go A selection from the huge varieties of potatoes grown in Peru 📸 c/o The international potato centre (TIL - Peru has 4000 varieties)

 @Natasha_Jay I would love to try them all but my doctor does not allow me to have potatoes. I can have yams, but not potatoes.  @Natasha_Jay @neauoire @akkartik @aartaka that said, Markdown dialect incompatibilities are a worse problem than different versions of browsers. and there’s the perhaps minor point that markdown has a much more direct dependency on html and the precise ways it renders in a browser than most people realise, even setting aside that the standard requires that a markdown dialect literally support all of html inline   @bouncepaw human instinct towards little crawlers is interesting. where im at, the bathroom almost always has at least one daddy longlegs crawling around. back in the day I would always be prepared to kill em, but ive gotten less scared of them over time, and also know more about the good things they do for me here with their natural behavior HOWEVER less common creepy crawlers still can all gtfo lol |
