Hello #gamers. I'm up to playing an awesome #roguelike. Very turn-based gameplay, fantasy setting. Graphics optional, but preferred. Mac, web or emulation. I know about #nethack, what else is there?

 @bouncepaw Tales of Maj'Eyal, Rogue Fable 3, Rift Wizard, Tangledeep, Golden Krone Hotel, and Path of Achra are ones to check out for sure. Thanks everybody! I looked at almost every entry proposed (and will look at those I haven't yet). Some conclusions: 1. Most free roguelikes have the worst tilesets and/or UI. Sorry, I literally cannot afford looking at that with my vision. 2. Paid roguelikes look funky. Wishlished a couple, will get them when there is a sale. Shattered Pixel Dungeon ended up being my choice for now. Pretty fun. Found out that if you work full time, eat three times a day, sleep eight hours and do a long enough commute, there's... not much time left? I'm a Cog of The Babylon Machine.   @bouncepaw I feel seen. I hate it. I try and avoid it with every last breath. It currently is not working and I am feeling g sad and angry. I hope that you do not.  Now thinking about creating a movement to promote "hobbit software". Pretty chill, keeps to itself, tends to its databases, hangs out with other hobbit software at the pub, broadly unbothered by the scheming of the wizards and the orcs, oblivious to the rise and fall of software empires around them. Oh, the Electron empire is going to war with the Reacts? Sounds ghastly, sorry to hear that. Me and the lads are off to the pub to run some cronjobs, wanna come along? Nothing more funny as these Tramways à Grande Vitesse. #TGV 🇫🇷 literally means Very Fast Tram. Just as funny as Large Hadron Collider, which is a famously large collider. I love this honest naming.  @bouncepaw Ahah it’s TRAIN à grande vitesse and like you I love the naming. I just imagined a tramway à grand vitesse, this thing might probably go to a whopping 80km/h! Went to a casino. Wow, this is surprisingly fun! I doubled my little money at first, but then lost it, and left with the same money I had at start. I didn't expect myself to like gambling.  The NeXTlevel was NeXT Software's first handheld device, eagerly awaited but canned just two weeks from release when Apple purchased NeXT and chose not to pursue gaming. All 250,000 release devices were pulled from channels and unceremoniously rolled into landfill out northwest of Dubbo.

@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social it’s an incredible story. They actually bought NeXT for NeXTlevel, to replace Pippin! And then canceled BOTH to focus on OS X!   What if we never had photography? We would still have printers, disks, internet, digital art, et cetera, but no process of shooting a photo. Tourism would sure be different.  А как бы мы делали печатные платы и чипы без фоторезиста? Ну, то есть, светочувствительные материалы используются много где кроме фотографии, но при этом, когда ты умеешь и в них, и в оптику, совместить эти две вещи кажется достаточно очевидной идеей Reading Narcissus and Goldmund in a mountaneous town.
