The United States intends to take Soviet weapons for Ukraine from Latin American countries. Including Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, provided that these countries replace Soviet weapons with American ones. 🤡

On the left US citizens tried to overthrow the Venezuelan government and on the right they were abusing kids. Looking at the headlines, you’d never have guessed.

Capitalist innovation coming to Canadian healthcare. They're gonna build private clinics that will siphon doctors out of overloaded public hospitals so that rich parasites don't have to wait their turn.

@yogthos these capitalistic tech guy keeps pushing dystopian technology and counting us about its benefits. People want remote jobs, and self-managed organizations rather than a dictator boss that tracks brain activity.

There is increasing evidence indicating that extreme social withdrawal (Hikikomori) is a global phenomenon. We're seeing Marx's theory of capitalist alienation in action.

@yogthos This is a very cogent hypothesis and strikes me as most likely being right. Variants of hikikomori really can be spotted in all highly developed, complex societies. It certainly *may* be because of alienation in the Marxist sense of the term, but that is what must be studied by sociologists, social psychologists, etc. since cause-and-effect isn’t always perfectly clear at the level of society itself.

Google just laid off 12k people. Meanwhile, Alphabet had 116 billion USD "cash on hand" at the end of September 2022 with net income for that quarter being almost 14 billion, and nearly 67 billion for the year.

Even if the cost of each employee was 500K per year, that's "only" 6 billion dollars to keep those "great" people that they "love" working with around.

It's pretty clear that Google can in fact afford to keep "great" people that they "love" working with employed.
