@yogthos Looks a lot like the old HP laptop I use now and it's reasonably specced, except for storage. 256 Gb? And eMMC in 2022? This is inferior even compared to my €200 Chinese phone! Why?
Other than that, a nice laptop!

It was already known that Mussolini was on the payroll of British Intelligence in 1917. Now a new book provides evidence the UK actively backed his 1922 march on Rome and seizure of power. thetimes.co.uk/article/britain

Jeffrey Sachs, who is the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University and President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, has a very sober analysis regarding US policy towards Russia and China.

Sachs says the bipartisan US approach to foreign policy is "unaccountably dangerous and wrongheaded," and warns the US is creating "a recipe for yet another war" in East Asia.

Blinken: And so we’ve significantly increased our production as well as making available to Europe liquefied natural gas. And we’re now the leading supplier of LNG to Europe to help compensate for any gas or oil that it’s losing as a result of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

A qualitative change is required for a society to move from capitalism to socialism, and such change cannot be accomplished via mere reformism. Excerpt from ABC of Dialectical and Historical Materialism. ca1lib.org/book/16673626/10d69

“By using a microfilm, the division of a living cell (which in the human body takes from one to two hours) can be observed. As it divides, the cell undergoes a number of vital changes such as the halving of chromosomes, fission of the content of the cell, etc., but the cell still retains its identity. There then comes a point where these gradual changes end. The old cell disappears and two new ones appear.
It is the same with plants. Buds develop gradually, undergoing changes imperceptible to the eye, and up to a point they are still buds. Then the gradual development is interrupted. The buds break and the tree is suddenly covered with foliage. A seed is a living body in which metabolism and other processes go on all the time, and often for a very long time. Yet, regardless of all these changes, a seed remains a seed until the moment when a leap takes place. The seed coat breaks and the embryo begins to sprout. The seed is replaced by a plant which did not exist until then.”
“This holds of society as well. Contrary to the reformists, who claim that capitalism may turn into socialism through a series of gradual changes, the latter merely prepare the ground for socialism which emerges only after a revolution, a break in continuity. Of course, exploitative capitalist society persists from the time the Capitalist productive relations become predominant till the moment they are abolished by a revolution. It undergoes continuous significant changes along with the growth of its productive forces, concentration of capital, etc. Nevertheless, this all serves to aggravate the contradictions inherent in capitalism and intensify the class struggle. Only a break in continuity, a revolutionary upheaval, dislodging the bourgeoisie from government and taking the principal means of production out of their hands, can end capitalism and bring forth a new society based on public ownership, in which power is taken by the working class led by its party, and exploitation of man by man is finally abolished.”

Attorney-general warns politicians after confirming integrity commission could access encrypted texts on WhatsApp and Signal abc.net.au/news/2022-10-02/ag-

@yogthos Quoting a user from reddit: "As always, it's hyperbole. All he's saying is that they have the (legislated) ability to tap politician's phones and/or intercept data.

There's absolutely nothing in this article that says they have the capability to decrypt Signal messages. Because they can't.

I bet some tech guy outlined a theoretical scenario involving keylogging phone PINs/passwords, they pass these silly powers, and now the politicians are saying it "could" be done."
