@lritter ohh great to hear that this works! When I needed to move instances in 2018 there was no migration functionality, it is great to see that things are improving. :)

just curious, why did you switch? I know how Mastodon works technically, but I haven't fully grasped the personal upsides of choosing a specific instance yet. do you use the local feed a lot?

@lritter aha, so it seems. I did get a new follow ping from the new place apparently.
Does it matter a lot what server you pick? I'm guessing the local feed is more topical.
