I'm busy preparing vegetables to make kimchi in the kitchen, but I have an audience of two watching. I left dry food for the cats, but they're ignoring it and meowing at the gates for wet food....
So my cat food strategy is to feed dry+wet and serve one type of wet food on weekdays and another on weekends to get a nice variety. It gets the kitties a good balance of food types in case of recalls or total stoppages.
I just switched one of their wet foods, and THIS GOURMAND over here likes it so much that she started rejecting the other type of wet food. Sigh.
So I just got back from Bali 🌴 ... and the first thing I see when I get home is my mom attempting to feed mommy cat using a spare floor tile we had in the storeroom :neocat_confused:
Context: I've been trying to find the perfect surface to feed the cats because they sometimes ignore food if they can't pick it up within a few licks. So I've been experimenting with different feeding surfaces.
My mom's logic was that since the cats like to pick up wet food and drop it on the floor before eating, why not serve food on a piece of tile instead?
As you can see, it didn't work... :neocat_facepalm:

My smol kitty enjoys looking out the window at the canned wheatgrass 'pot'. She can literally spend hours just staring, and adjusting to look at it from different angles.
She'll sometimes whine until I let her eat some, then continue to stare once I put it back.
Canned cat grass regrowth plan success. New dried wheatgrass seeds are just barely small enough to be forced thru the small holes. And the canned environment is surprisingly good for germination.
Due to the stormy weather, swarms of ants have migrated into my apartment. So ants have started crawling into unminded cat food, especially the dry food set on a timer overnight. :meowcrying:
I woke up to an angry mommy cat meoooow-ing at me for not-ant-infested food. Sigh.
Edit: I got one of those anti-ant trays that are advertised 'from Taiwan' (made in China), that are effective, but I need to buy more for their automatic feeders as well. Anyone know how they work?
