Замедляют по SNI *.googlevideo.com — домена, с которого раздаётся видео YouTube, почти на всех провайдерах, но не везде YouTube будет действительно замедляться — на текущую минуту фильтр не целиком применяется к IP-адресам Google у многих провайдеров. В частности, скорость локального кеширующего сервера (на его IP-адресах) у моего провайдера не ограничивается. Новый этап закручивания гаек в интернете — это блокировки адресов облачных провайдеров и CDN, которые потенциально могут использоваться для обхода блокировок, в полностью автоматическом режиме.

Правящей верхушке совершенно насрать на количество заблокированных по ошибке сайтов и сервисов. Их идеальное видение интернета — сверхцентрализованная сеть, чьи функции ограничены хлебом и зрелищами. Все, кто требуют большего — враги государства.

@simon friendly reminder that you need root access to fully remove Google from many android phones and tablets and that root access generally voids your warranty. That said, most warranties don't last longer than a couple years so if you've had your phone for 2 or more years then you likely have little to lose by ripping your *.google.com applications out and replacing them with much more secure applications.

If you don't want to do that, the paid version of #netguard can at least lock down your phone's network traffic app by app and web address by web address.

So my local library's makerspace offered a free event where they brought in a bunch of old tower computers, printers, game consoles, etc., - laid out a bunch of iFixit toolkits - and let everyone (kids and adults alike) take everything apart!!!

One kid was hesitant because they didn't want to break anything and the library staff were like, none of it works. We're recycling and throwing everything out afterwards! Go hog wild, you won't get in trouble! You're meant to break it and take it apart!

The kid was absolutely enthusiastic and went to town!

I got to be a kid again and go into detail about all the computer parts and what each of the hardware did. It was awesome watching my children and other kids and adults interact, share tools, show off what they found.

I spoke with the organizer afterwards and asked if this was a regular thing and he said that he didn't have enough old equipment to make it regular. I laughed and said all of my friends have CLOSETS FULL OF THIS STUFF and the idea of giving it to a bunch of kids and adults to play with would bring joy and meaning to their life, lol!

I gave him the time to meet up with @fxbghackers and told him to make a community announcement about needing old electronics for donation to take apart and he'd get truck loads.

Just another way community helps each other out. This is post scarcity education.

С моим похоже куда-то в кэш сначала льются данные, потом начинают идти на диск, потом где-то не хватает пропускной способности и всё отваливается
Приходится вручную останавливать время от времени и делать sync, если объём данных не совсем крошечный

Подумал немного о Настоящей Демократии.
Идея: вместе с правом зарабатывать деньги все молодые граждане получают право распределять свои налоги.
Прям приходят в налоговую и пишут заявление: 30% на медицину, 15% на образование и т.д. Бизнес тоже.
Налог инертных граждан/компаний распределяется по среднему от "голосующих".
Правительство распоряжается тем, что дали. Не дали на войну - значит не будет войны.

@maldr0id I have no clue about Korean law, but if it resembles anything sane, this would lead to civil lawsuits but also criminal prosecution.

The latter might be enforced by victims forcing the public prosecutors to try the case (in other countries, there are legal procedures to force public prosecutors to bring cases to court).

In other words: dunno who decided this, but they might find themselves at odds with civil and criminal law....
