Helpfully, Discord has added, above your friends list in the messages tab, a new feature where the avatars of four random people you don't actually fucking talk to are displayed really big in giant rounded rectangles. I have not yet figured out how to turn it off.

@mcc oh no have they rolled out the new layout they've been trialling for a while?

it sucks. apparently it's not as bad on iOS, but jfc on Android it just *sucks*.

edit: s/sucks/sucked, apparently iOS and Android are now roughly in parity. still dislike it, but hey, at least Android isn't arbitrarily worse!

@blobcat @mcc hmm... it definitely still felt jank earlier today, but after turning the "new UI" toggle off and on again, it does seem like the swipe-to-go-back thing works a *lot* nicer all of a sudden. except for in settings, but eh.

fair enough!
(personally not a fan of the UI changes in general though, but alas.)

@mcc but that’s actually where my weekly chat moved! And I couldn’t find where else to get back to it, so I use that square carousel thing (this is exactly what I meant by having to hunt)
