Operating •and• developing Mastodon on this budget is nothing short of amazing.
It’s also unsustainable and we should make sure we don’t just pay for our third party Mastodon clients but donate to the core project.

@RnDanger Can you open it using the direct link? https://joinmastodon.org/reports/Mastodon%20Annual%20Report%202022.pdf @deanerschnitzel I click the link and it loads for a very long time, I think a handshake times out and then I'm allowed to download it. When I click download it says "downloading" and then waits a long time and says "download failed" It might just be me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I had to click around a bit to find the donate page, so I've linked it here. @finestructure @Gargron Important to support both the core project and your own instance if we want to keep this going. Bonus points if you support additional instances beyond your own home base. @finestructure I'm not sure why they're taking such low renumeration. Their Patreon alone gets ~ $25k a month, and there are corporate sponsorships on top of that. That money was donated for supporting the developers; I hope it's not being stashed away out of misguided financial conservatism. @finestructure I would feel better if half the money spent on these subscription clients when to Mastodon. I wouldn't feel so ripped off my subscription software. |
@finestructure
I was not able to view the PDF. It hangs a long time and then fails to download.
