I'm always trying to find non-freemium games that I like on Android. I prefer paying once for something and having the monetization decoupled from the game itself.

Anyway, Slice & Dice is a really great, fast paced dice-rolling RPG combat roguelite.

You can buy it for mac/pc/android here: tann.itch.io/slice-dice

It's also on the Google Play store.

The pixel art is really lovely (this is speaking as someone who has grown tired of half-hearted pixel art). Also the UI programming is blazingly fast, which I cannot underscore how happy that makes me. The little FM synthesis sound effects have a ton of personality.

@darius Don't you think it demeans the purpose of real content warnings to use it for absolutely harmless stuff like this?
Darius Kazemi

@jec I use it as a subject line so people can simply skip it if, for example, they do not care at all about gaming

@darius I don't always care about a lot of things people post, but CWs to me actually have the opposite effect of giving me this compulsion to expand them and see what they are. CW subjects rarely give enough information for people to know whether one would be actually interested. tbh I think it's actually easier and faster to get a quick overview of what a post is (and just scroll past it if you don't wanna delve deeper into it) when it's there in plain view... I don't think it's reasonable to expect to add someone as a contact and love everything they post/reshare 100% of the time, it kinda comes with the territory

@darius I understand wanting to be considerate to other people, but in my case at least, content warnings actually come with this extra mental energy expenditure of having to decide whether I want to expand something or not from a vague short description, so I just don't bother and expand everything anyway 🤷‍♂️

@jec I actually feel this way about content warnings myself and have them all set to auto-expand, but I try be accommodating of what other people ask for by providing them. Ideally I'd know exactly what content warnings people want and where to draw the line, but I'd rather be overconsiderate than underconsiderate

@darius Also in this particular case for example: I don't do any mobile gaming so maybe I would've skipped this, but then you comment on it and explain it's actually available for a number of platforms, and I may actually be interested in the game from your description. So it's not always that clear-cut

Oh...! I need to check whether Friendica supports this... That's actually a good idea (ideally I would prefer people didn't CW every post but... that's not gonna happen)
