@joshmillard you know, this reassure me that things I learned and the experience I gained moderating communities over 20 years ago is still completely relevant and nothing has changed @Phelpssan @joshmillard what a coincidence! Only learned this morning that means son of a bitch. But are we being unfair to Spez’s mum? 🤔 I suspect he was a cabbage patch kid @joshmillard Not sure exactly what they thought it would happen. I mean the FIRST /r/place went pretty good actually. THere was some less savoury stuff that the mods had to delete, and a few minor mod overreaches, but mostly it was fine. But this.. if I were on the board and I even remotely knew how Reddit works(ed) or saw the original Place, I would be "what the actual fuck were you thinking trying that again NOW of all times? here's your box, GTFO." That spez is still CEO boggles me. @joshmillard What's next. Another Woody Harrelson AMA? *Hi! I'm actor Woody Harrelson and I'm here to talk to you about Reddit. You may remember me from such disasterous AMAs as "lets talk about Rampart" and.. well, that's it really.* @tezoatlipoca @joshmillard In more than once place I've seen people claiming the protests have failed and they're over and anyway they've failed. Evidently, not. @joshmillard I love it when #reddit comes together to work on drawing something together like that 😊 Abe Vigoda saw this coming when Reddit announced this brilliance, and Abe passed away in 2016, at the ripe old age of "Went to High School with Moses" @joshmillard It just got me to look at the website again before laughing and leaving - I guess they'll consider that a win? But... Yeah I don't feel like I'm missing anything, strange how much time I used to spend on there really. :) Well, I guess that's one thing Lemmy doesn't have! (A crowd of angry people dissing a CEO one pixel at a time.) @joshmillard Yeah, lets give people platform to draw anything they like, they won't use it to vocalize their concerns and opinions, right? :ablobcatdundundun: @joshmillard Not *entirely* related but I'm still confused: if people are using this much energy to hate on spez, what's keeping them from leaving the platform and moving on? Is it the communities? The only reason Reddit is still relevant is because people are still holding onto it. Same for other platforms like birdsite. |
@joshmillard oops
