Jagged Alliance 3 came out today so now seems like a good time to promote the book I wrote about Jagged Alliance 2.

*clears throat*

Roughly ten years ago I wrote a book about the 1999 PC strategy game Jagged Alliance 2 and you can purchase it here:

I am looking forward to playing the new game when I get some time! I will probably have things to say about it.

Hugo Labrande

@darius A great book that really sold me on the game!

Ben Sahlmueller

@darius After all those years, there are still situations where I have to think of some of the phrases from the game, eg shadow (I guess it was shadow) “sie checken ein aber sie checken nicht mehr aus” (they are checking in but they won’t check out?).

Darius Kazemi

@b3n haha yes that's shadow and yes that's the US idiom from an old advertisement for pest control

Andrew Ferguson

@darius even having never played the original game, I really enjoyed reading your book!

Brian Jones

@darius Read your book when it came out and really loved it.

@darius hey man, I had a gamedev blog you knew of back around '06 called "Shoelace Shader guy" and you remembered that when we met up at GDC later. Anyway I've pinged you via your contact from but I'm not sure if that's even connected to an email you check anymore but you seem active here. I'm reaching out on behalf of Intel (though it was my idea) to have you on a separate show talked about JA with other Intel employee JA nerds, ideally while their current giveaway is still running ;)

@darius also I vaguely recall contacting you again at the time you either announced the book or after I read it via the Boss Fight Humble Bundle (was the highlight for sure, the first main reason I picked it up) and yeah it was great. PS I just rebought JA2 again so I could try out the JA2 Vengeance mod which integrates both WF and JA1 mercs, new portraits + new towns and story. Practically a sequel in its own right. Bit overwhelmed by it now in a good way. Looking forward to ur JA3 thoughts
