@matt I don't think that the fediverse is actually at all resistant to this potential other then that its so small at the moment. I don't think he has to be payed anything for posts like this to work there. If he set up a server here (not recommending this) he would probably cause a similar response. and the anticapitalists would be dwarfed in view by the "gimme lambo" commenters |
@liaizon The draw that celebrities have is crazy. But you know what else? They wouldn’t even sniff at the new platform if there wasn’t money to be made.
I’ve already had friends of mine who run small businesses ask me what “potential” Threads has for promoting their business.
Mr Beast is the same. He’s probably contracted to sign up / use it / promote it for a certain amount of time and - call me cynical - but he’ll only stick around if there’s money to be made (directly or indirectly).
