weird conspiracy shit that might be worth someone looking into:
so I was trying to katch up and understanding who this Yevgeny Prigozhin character is and ended up on The Wall Street Journal’s latest documentary “Shadow Men: Inside Russia’s Secret War Company”

30secs in, something weird: the opening shot is AI generated, but no where does it say this. You can obviously tell cause the banner that should be static is shifting between different letter forms

"here you have him on camera describing Wagner as his group" while they show AI generated imagery. are they trying to start conspiracies? cause this shit is dangerous

this is not "on camera" as they just said in the WSJ documentary

@liaizon could also be compression / scaling artifacts, because the shapes seem to change as they change position. i'd be interested how you'd know reliably though

Blue

@liaizon no, I remember that video, it was for reals, WSJ might have enhanced it with AI, but it really was

@blue interesting, so why would WSJ run it thru such a shitty AI processor tho, it makes it look totally un-reliable

Blue

@liaizon dunno, may be they wanted to make 4k out of a phone video, or they have edited some content. Can you share that documentary you're talking about? cuz I know nothing of it, just got attracted by the familiar screenshots

@blue its linked in the first post you are responding to

@liaizon oh, yeah, been looking at it this whole time, lemme see

heatdeath

@liaizon wondering if this is just ai upscaled or something

sleepysaf

@liaizon complete, from-scratch AI video generation is nowhere near this yet. The letters are not shifting between forms but rather slightly different representations of the same forms as happens with AI upscaling. Because for some reason every camera in Russia is worse than a potato

H.O.F.

@liaizon is probably a novel way to blur the faces, but looks really shity

Dante Scanline

@liaizon id guess this is some kinda AI upscaled thing? though then again its reaaaaally weird looking when he turns to face the camera, like is this based on something or fully generated?
