Indeed, you asked for these changes. Others asked not to. Both sides gave arguments. Whatever the decision, it will be in favour of some asks and against some other asks. The phrase "You asked, now it's coming" denies the complexity of the earlier discussion, and as such it is dishonest.

Even more so since the very person who now does it previously had tied Mastodon's identity to not doing it. He may be right, but he shouldn't pretend it's just a feature update.
