 @darius of course of course! I’m just still raw from my experience. It’s just that the double standard is so baffling. As soon as you don’t say search, it’s fine. The person running this still built “a fediverse scraper”. Ah well. :) |
@janl I see what you're saying but the key differences are that it doesn't enable search as a verb, and it only surfaces links to things - I can't use it to find a specific thing someone said. Ultimately it's not about the tech on the backend (which is basically the same!) but what user actions it enables
