@ethanschoonover I’m more inclined to say “2016 ActivityPub is for nerds”, since that’s when Mastodon was announced. But then again, I’m the sort of nerd who had an account on identi.ca. I was bored of distributed social networks by then.

 @josephholsten @ethanschoonover 2016 ActivityPub was underway but not finalized and not used in public. =) (Mastodon v1.6.0 with AP landed in Sep 2017 and AP was finalized and made an official W3C recommendation in Jan 2018) |
@josephholsten my account is from 2017, I just felt like the bit landed better with 2022 :)
