The worst of it is with regards to the rise in right wing populism. Being unable to comprehend that some of the people attracted to it are doing so as a lash out against the throes of crushing capitalism. Having been deprived of the tools like material analysis to understand the true cause of their woes, they take an easy path out.
But to accept that would mean accepting that capitalism is inherently contradictory, and liberalism is blind to fail. So they can't do that.
@kpopncommunism people become disillusioned with the system, but they the understanding of what the actual problems are.
The right offers platitudes that are in line with the capitalist indoctrination. The whole idea that the government is the problem, and you just need more free markets, etc.
This is what's been drilled into people's heads, and they think things are getting worse because we're just doing capitalism wrong.
Meanwhile, moving to the left requires rejecting the whole system.
