I've often wondered why the aristocracy didn't just give a little more to the people to prevent the French revolution.

The pandemic made me realize that the oligarchs have no idea where that line is because they were so removed from the common experience.

@yogthos I actually lived through the whole process myself in Chile, starting with the highschooler's protests in 2019

we were on the brink of reforming the constitution, one, if not the pivot in our society that holds together this oligarchy-hegemony.

we finally stepped in one of the many traps set by rich people and we ended up throwing away a two-year full process of a beautiful, just, democratic and feminist constitution

@morenonatural that was so depressing to watch, to go so far and then to falter right at the very end

@yogthos there must've been a hundred more traps after the "accept this new proposal" referendum

if not that one, we were bound to fall into another one

It still saddens me, but, as a human, I cannot but keep stubbornly going at it

Yogthos

@morenonatural yeah the only thing to do is to learn, improve the methods, and do better next time

@yogthos Maybe I shouldn't, but I laughed a bit

@yogthos Financialized fluff economy, trade deficit, overinflated military budget, monopolized goods. Neoliberal policies imposed against the economically underdeveloped countries. Labor devaluation in the 1970s. Recession looming alongside provocations against mainland China + the end of the Petrodollar.

There goes 4+ decades of "progress" going down the drain. I predict the years of American imperialism are going to come crashing down on the domestic population of the US + Canada.

@yogthos I liked "the last part was metaphorical" end.
