@mcc I just tried to clarify. “Mastodon? I'm vaguely aware of it, because you've talked at me about it. I don't really care, because Twitter's for old people. No – Twitter's for Millennials. It's for old people who don't think they're old.”

@mausmalone @robinhouston @mcc I saw it pointed out somewhere that it's entirely possible that there will never be a Gen X president of the United States. We had Boomer presidents for 28 years and when that streak was finally broken it was because we elected someone *too old* to be a Boomer. @CarlMuckenhoupt @mausmalone @robinhouston if elon musk does a coup does that count as "president" or is it something else at that point @CarlMuckenhoupt @mausmalone @robinhouston @mcc we might get a Gen X president the same way we got our first (probably only) Silent president, Biden--when they're pretty old. (We can hope. If you're betting on one for 2024, it's probably DeSantis.) @robinhouston @mcc I guess Generation Yuzz thinks Generation Y is “old people who don’t think they’re old” Sounds about right for what kids think of their parents (… “Yuzz” is the letter that comes after Z in the extended alphabet of “On Beyond Zebra”; Gen Yuzz is also known as Gen Α, with a capital Greek letter alpha - α) |
@robinhouston @mcc hey we know we're old. We just wish that there was a moment in time between having been treated like children and being treated like out-of-touch geriatrics. Just, like, one year being treated like a normal adult would've been nice but, alas.
