@ajroach42 My point is that we need to guard against the thing we were originally against. It's far too easy to acquire those attributes as we ourselves gain power and influence. I've seen it happen many times in my lifetime.

@ajroach42 I think this platform has great promise. I like the "code of conduct" implicit in the guidelines of each server. The main message of Animal Farm is that we are all susceptible to the traps of power and control. As we take part in this experiment in communication, I hope we remember that message.

@ajroach42 Orwell was making a much larger statement than "communism is bad". Essentially, the message was about power and control and human nature's capacity for the abuse of both. Animal Farm represented any human society--capitalist, socialist, fascist, or communist.
