@dragoncrown I mean.. science by definition is "the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment." It's the realest thing there is, right? How could it not be real as in "actually existing as a thing or occurring in fact; not imagined or supposed." Is this a US language thing? Like "liberals" being the ones accused of taking away freedom? @dragoncrown ah ok. As far as I have observed, in public debate in the US words are more often used to evoke emotions related to specific groups of people, rather than by their definition. So "science is real" becomes "the scientific community is trustworthy". Now I get it :D |
