Gregory's Server@ajroach42 I left twitter a while ago but was unaware of the existence of the fediverse. i'm so hopeful for the future of the internet for the first time in a while. I'm gen x so I was lucky to know the earliest versions of the internet where people exchanges tons of ideas, conversations, discoveries etc. Before it became a giant mall. hopefully we can get some of it revived here! :ablobderpy:

Do all the servers talk to each other? @birdblahblah @luisafernino Any server can choose which servers it talks to. In theory, any server can talk to any other server. In practice, every server has blocked some other servers for a lack of moderation, bad behavior, beef between users, etc. For the most part, this won't impact you. Occasionally, it does. @ajroach42 @luisafernino ok coolio. I picked this one because the name sounded friendly and there were a lot of folks on it, and the rules seemed reasonable. @luisafernino @ajroach42 the Internet is a giant mall. Excellent funny analogy! Aside, I don’t understand anything how this works so it’s exactly like the first internet I used in the 90’s. This will take me about 12 years to understand 🥴
