@jackofalltrades yeah you can take the analogy too far obviously, and it doesn't have to be a human organism either.
Key point I wanted to convey is that you can't have a healthy organism when parts of the organism are not getting the resources they need to function.
In order to have a well functioning society, the focus of the economy should be ensuring that everyone has their needs met first and foremost.
@yogthos Yes, I understand what you wanted to say. My only gripe with that analogy is that it can just as well be used to argue for an ideology diametrically opposed to #socialism. Like how every cell in an organism only needs enough energy to survive and not more. Or how some cells / organs are more important for an organism than others. Or how sometimes it's necessary for organism's survival to sacrifice a group of cells.
