@prabirkc I would unequivocally disagree. People who live in places that the government of those places does not recognize does not make those people homeless. Squats/Favelas/Slums/Camps are most certainly homes and the people who live in them are not homeless.
@liaizon You certainly have a point there. Would be happy to know more about your take on what we call Bustee or Jhuugi Jhopdi in India or they call Favela in South America. Here sometimes the Bustee exists as a village before the city arrives- so obviously they are not "squatting". Also the government displaces villages for " development"! The displaced are settled in "colonies". And of course there is also a group of economic migrants too- not dissimilar to those in rich countries
