we got lost on a train in denmark and it went many hours in a direction we were not intending to go in and now we are waiting for it to go back the right direction. very confusing and there is no one to ask it seems

the train said it was going to Aarhus and we got on it and then somehow we ended up in Esbjerg and then the same train switched directions and went back and now we are just waiting for it to head forward towards aarhus again. crossing my fingers.

The trains to Jutland often separate at Fredericia into one part going to Esbjerg, the other going North... so if you don't know and settle into a carriage going the wrong way, you're shit out of luck.

@uncomics yep that's exactly what happened. we made it to aarhus like 4 hours later then expected and luckily met a really kind person on the train who invited us to stay at their house

@liaizon Lucky you! I grew up with the Danish train service so it's second nature. I've traveled with enough foreigners to know it's a batshit crazy system, though.
