@pioneer I'm aiming for more-or-less feature parity with VKontakte as it was 10 years ago. Except there's one mistake I'm not making: the ability to post on behalf of a group.
And what's already there compared to Mastodon: walls and friend requests. And threaded comments, which VK doesn't quite have, but I'm planning on adding a setting to choose from three comment presentation styles (threaded, two-level, flat).
@grishka I'm trying to compare the efforts of creating another Mastodon/Pleroma frontend vs building everything from scratch. AFAIK comments can be shown as threaded using the data from a Mastodon backend. I can also remember follow requests with confirmation from some Pleroma/Friendica accounts, but I have little info on that.
