@liaizon You're right. There is no consensus yet on the German translation of “fediverse”, so most of us use the English term. @chpietsch @liaizon yes. In german we mostly use the original english technological terms and add german grammar to it. First in everyday use, then it becomes official. I know. I'm afraid I may have contributed to spreading the wrong translation by co-authoring this article: https://digitalcourage.de/digitale-selbstverteidigung/fediverse (It uses both "Fediverse" and "Fediversum".) @chpietsch @liaizon easy, we will see which lasts... I think fediverse has a nicer rhythm than fediversum, and often its the tone that makes names last, not correctness of any kind. And for the födiverse - Föderation is not a common term in german, mainly exists in political state organisation. Might not be the context to highlight. (And in swiss german Födi is a diminuitiv for arse.) |
