@liaizon I know what you mean, and when you try to follow on another instance, it doesn’t know who I am and makes me type out the name + domain correctly. I’m not sure what, but it’d be nice if something could just hook in there and take me to my instance.

@liaizon im not sure there's an activitypub way of querying messages from a user? messages find their way to u rather than being asked for specifically and the link gives a direct reference to a message

basically i dont think AP provides a way to get posts beyond them being sent to u through follows n boosts or a direct reference.

@liaizon yeah and the messaging around this flow is also odd and confusing. even on masto web the link for 'go look at their home instance profile' is at the bottom of their feed. so if they have *some* posts loaded on your instance, it shoves the link down and you might assume what you're seeing is everything. really strange middle ground edge case thing that happens because there's no back fill possible
