@nixCraft There is this strange feeling when you realise just how much knowledge we have as individuals if written as data is relatively tiny in comparison to the sheer density of data on modern drives. Like if I recorded every uncompressed word I have heard even in passing or without listening too like strangers on the street, spoken, read or written it would still probably not even pass half a gig assuming it's stored as plan text. Obviously I haven't done the math to prove, just spit balling. @nixCraft granted it's not all code that I've written and it's not all zipped but my "Projects" folder on my USB HDD is 87GB (+ a 26GB "Jobs" folder) @mathieucomandon@fosstodon.org @nixCraft@mastodon.social ill bet that "granted" is doing a lot of heavy lifting xd |
