I don't think it attempted to implemented any of those filters. But I'm not sure where the dimming or gray overlay comes from.

I have created https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/5325 as a possible quick fix, which is imho better than reverting the change. But reverting, on the other hand, would be better than leaving it dimmed like it is now.
