@gamingonlinux maybe you are right. But when I want to buy elsewhere (like gog) I don't have a nice way to play on linux. This was the case with the latest title from frictional games for example (the first time they did not ship a linux client). That is why I still appreciate native ports.
But as you said most people probably shouldn't/don't care.
