@gamingonlinux ever since I moved to Linux, I have never felt the need to play any game that require anti cheat. @gamingonlinux That's good. I can then see exactly which games NOT to buy. I don't buy and install games which need admin rights or install an own service or something which keeps running after the game is closed. @gamingonlinux "requires manual removal"? Does that mean easy anticheat is not gone if you delete the game? At least that Vanguard does correctly as far as I can remember. @shadowwwind in some cases like older games it's not all entirely removed no @epicEaston197 nope, that idea was pushed by people who have no idea what they're actually talking about: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2024/09/microsoft-windows-kernel-changes-dont-suddenly-mean-big-things-for-linux-gaming/ Rockstar thought it threw a punch at Valve. Valve was quick at work before the punch even landed, moved out of the way and put a solid wall in its place! Ouch! Did that hurt Rockstar? |
@gamingonlinux About time! If your game needs malware to play it I should be able to know before I buy. Having to put that badge of shame on the store page hopefully will make publishers hesitate.
