Ben is making the case that the Fediverse is the means by which publishers can re-take the initiative with technology instead of simply having to live with whatever the platforms decide. That is powerful stuff!

Absolutely! I've long said that every media org and publisher should have their own instance and run it for their own content creators using their standards and resources so they aren't beholden to Musk, Zuck, and any other billionaire de jour who got rich of our backs.
