This feature is rolling out now and will be available for everyone soon. ⏰

Here's how it works:
1️⃣ Tap the 'sync aliases' button in #ProtonPass
2️⃣ Choose which vault to sync aliases to

Aliases will continue to sync, and disabled aliases will be reflected in #ProtonPass and @simplelogin

@protonprivacy @simplelogin I don't understand in which situations i will need this feature?

SimpleLogin

@dnkrupinski @protonprivacy For community members who have created aliases on both platforms, this makes it easier to manage your aliases.

@simplelogin @protonprivacy OK. I'm waiting for this sync feature to be available for me.

@protonprivacy @simplelogin Whilst logged into one proton account, will this allow me to create an alias against another Proton account that the first account is an administrator of? I currently have to log into Proton Pass of the second account to create aliases against it.. Its a small but inconvenient step I'm having to take.

Proton

@rj191 Such a functionality is not made possible by this deploy, but we'll pass on your request to the team for consideration.

@protonprivacy @simplelogin I'm using it since last week (I got early access via Visionary) and it's really great to have all my aliases in Pass! Can't wait to send from aliases directly in Pass too 😊

@protonprivacy Hello Proton people! I use and love your products, but may I suggest an addition? It'd be great if there was something like "Emergency Access" that Bitwarden has. I know we don't want to think about the situations where this feature comes in handy, but I think it's important to give this option. Thank you so much.

Hey, @protonprivacy, quick question, when a friend of mine creates an alias he gets a full word and random number as his modifier after the custom label and before the @. But I get random characters. What's up with that?

Proton

@Drew Hi Drew! You can modify these preferences in your SimpleLogin settings at simplelogin.io

Drew

@protonprivacy ah thank you! I was looking for a setting in Pass

@protonprivacy @simplelogin I didn't realise @simplelogin was part of Proton. 😯.
Just installed it from F-Droid

@protonprivacy @simplelogin What do you mean by "✨ send emails directly from an alias in #ProtonPass"? I have the sync already for a few days now, but I don't see any options where I could send emails, and why from Proton Pass? I don't really know what I would expect, I didn't expect anything on that front, but it's a lil bit confusing.

Proton

@efertone @simplelogin Hey there, currently with SimpleLogin, you have to create a reverse email to send from one of your aliases. We are working on making this easier in Pass and Proton Mail, more details to follow!

@protonprivacy @simplelogin boom. Sorry, my brain is probably busy, I missed the "Soon you’ll be able to" part and I just assumed that list is a "here is a list of new features you can use" :blobfoxlaugh: Thank you :)

Proton

@efertone @simplelogin Sorry we didn't make it more clear, cheers!

This might - almost - convince me to move away from KeePassXC to ProtonPass.

If my passphrases are accessible offline. And if they seamlessly sync when my device(s) come back online.

If I can export the database for backup and archive.

Drew

@protonprivacy @simplelogin >You asked, we delivered!

*I* asked! This was my request on uservoice. I'm so happy we can finally do this!

Shawn Wilsher

@protonprivacy @simplelogin Will this eventually allow replying to email sent to the alias as well (where it is sent from the alias to the recipient)? I've had a few complicated interactions with customer support who didn't understand why I can't send email from the address I have on file.

Proton

@sdwilsh This is already possible with reverse aliases (not through the Proton Pass dashboard however). See more here: simplelogin.io/docs/getting-st

@protonprivacy @simplelogin I am still struggling with umderstanding the relatipn of simplelogin and proton aliases. Is it explaimed somewhere? And when to pick one over the other? :)
