@tefferbear ok so here's extended positive feedback: @brunogirin @tefferbear 💯 to this. And I love the gentleness and care with which the playdoh treats its home, as well as with which the home treats its playdoh. @tefferbear oh gosh, she's really good! This reminds me so much of the shorts on sesame street when I was wee. I love it! @tefferbear @MmeLibertine these are awesome! So much character, such smooth and physically plausible animation, and fun! @tefferbear @MmeLibertine So joyful! And a lil creepy when it eats the lid. Then joyful waves again! It brought a smile to my face. :D @tefferbear @MmeLibertine ah! Found this one on fdroid. https://gitlab.com/deadlockz/caputhown/blob/master/Readme.md This really is fantastic. What a joy it must be watching her be creative like this! I suspect there's some good parenting going on here. Keep that up! @IAmDannyBoling it is SUCH a joy! She’s always been a designer, but seeing it translate into video is SO cool! @tefferbear Reminds me of "bumper" stopmotions and other "low-framerate" works :) Very nice :) @tefferbear ...your kid has a very, VERY promising future ahead of them in animation. I wanna see more :O I am INVESTED in this story and this is only a few seconds long! @tefferbear @tefferbear how did your kid learn how to do this? I have a 9-year-old and I think he'd be really interested in trying it out. Kids these days are surprisingly good at stop motion animation. My 9 year old also made me install an app called Stop Motion. So far we've got one of a train circling around his wooden railway. He wants to do lego stop motion, because he sees a lot of that online. @tefferbear this legit reminds me of footage I've seen of octopuses using bivalve shells as shelters--they'll carry the two halves along with them, then nestle into one half and pull the other one over the top! this is *fantastic*!! @tefferbear@mastodon.art That's fab :blobcatHappy: Many thanks to everyone who has been liking, sharing and commenting!! You’ve given a ten year old artist a lot of encouragement and joy! @tefferbear This is totally amazing, particularly from a 10 yr old! It takes such patience and focus to do it at all, and then to do it so well! @tefferbear There's a flashing neon sign in my head that says Laika Studios. When she's older, finances permitting, she may want to consider the Emily Carr University of Art + Design here in Vancouver, or Sheridan College in Brampton, ON. I can guarantee they'd let her in if these were in her portfolio. Or, if it turns out there's something else she's interested in studying, or doesn't want to study at all, stop-motion can be something she does just for enjoyment. ☺️ |
@tefferbear this is really cool! Pass my congratulations to the artist!
