Gregory's ServerWith the Intel laptops, the speed difference was great enough that a four year cycle made a significant difference in my workflow. But the M1 is just so good, I don’t yet have the desire to upgrade for any reason. I don’t even think the M4 would make a dent in my workflow.

 @johjakob Plus, a huge amount of my work happens in a handful of Electron apps. Unless the M4 Pro includes dedicated hardware for managing multiple Chromium instances, idk how much it’ll improve my life.  @samhenrigold The thing I did notice going from M1 to M3 was anything that used the Neural Engine was significantly faster on M3 @samhenrigold Right before I graduated I had leftover scholarship $$ that was “use it or lose it” so I replaced my base M1 MBP for a baller config of the M3 MBP. I feel like I have a relatively demanding workflow but I really can’t tell the difference unless I *really* pay attention |
@samhenrigold I feel the same way. My M1 Max holds up so incredibly well that I’m not gonna think about upgrading for the next two or three years. It’s still such a beast!
